Fort Nelson to Muncho Lake, B.C.

They traveled a shorter distance this time so made frequent stops to enjoy the scenery and even try to fish. Cliff, Ron & Donna had purchased fishing licenses in Prince George and Cliff eagerly tried his out in MacDonald Creek. It was good they had chances to get out of the trucks and move about because the cinnamon buns they shared at Tetsa Campground (they were warned not to miss these) were very filling, yet worthy of every buttery, warm and fluffy bite.

An oasis in the middle of nowhere, Northern Rockies Lodge is a series of rentable cabins and RV sites right on the shore of breathtaking Lake Muncho. They settled in, then drove down the road to do the short hike to the Mineral Licks in hopes of wildlife photo ops (none there), but were delayed when they spotted a bear at the forest’s edge, oblivious to them and seriously focused on foraging. At this point, they were carrying bear spray wherever they went.
