[This page is going to be under construction for a couple of days as the millions of bear and moose pictures are sorted out.]
They were so grateful on their last evening in Valdez to visit their favorite bear-viewing spot and, this time, be treated to a grizzly. Previous visits had all resulted in black bear viewings – all wonderful, but not grizzlies.
This beautiful creature had experienced a run-in with a grizzly bigger than him. The painful-looking wound on his back flank didn’t keep him from scooping up the salmon. There were so many fish that he had the luxury of stepping on one to squeeze out the roe and lick up the eggs, then move on to another fish – over and over again.
The four moved on to Anchorage, winding up in a funky campground next to the train tracks (but very close to the Ulu Factory!). They spent a day hiking the top of Mt. Alyeska after arriving there by tram.

On the way home they spotted a moose…

[All four got great shots of the bear and moose so this site just shows placeholders – more images will be added soon.]
On their last full day in Anchorage, they hiked the loop around Little Campbell Lake in Kincaid Park.
