Sunrise on Mono Lake

June 1, 2016 – At a very early 3:00am we got up to make the drive to the south end of Mono Lake to capture the sunrise over the unique “tufa” formations. We weren’t the first to arrive – there were already photographers and geese moving about. The cool morning air warmed as the sun rose and we carried our tripods about looking for just the right shots.

The “Kodak” moments changed constantly as the light grew brighter, the geese flew overhead, and the reflections in front of the tufa became more defined. The three hours we spent there went quickly and we decided that getting up early for this kind of beauty was maybe worth it.
